Résumé
The whole idea of Lo-fi and home recording always sounds a little inaccurate to me, and especially since myspace producers figured out how to fabricate the next Tommy from a bedroom-sized studio. Nevertheless, 31 year-old Ariel Marcus Rosenberg has slowly become Ariel Pink by experimenting with home-recordings since the age of 11, when he composed his first song “Sexy Lady”.

Born and raised in Los Angeles, self-tought Ariel Pink believes in the “golden age of the 60′s”, a period where “we did so much, that it makes it harder now to innovate”. Also a period of time that he takes his influences and his mentor from: the godfather of home recording R. Stevie Moore, also known for being the son a Elvis Presley’s bass-player.

Back in 2003, he got to be the first artist to be signed on Animal Collective’s record label Paw Tracks who released his debut album, “Doldrums“. Last year, Ariel Pink and his crew Haunted Graffiti have signed with British indie 4AD who they’re currently recording an album for, coming up this spring.
